Kent Kauffman, LCSW

Kent is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience supporting adults with stress management, emotional wellness, workplace concerns, and life transitions. He provides a practical, supportive approach designed to help clients build healthy coping strategies, improve resilience, and navigate personal and professional challenges.

He earned his Master of Social Work from the University of South Florida in 1987. During his graduate training, he completed internships at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital and Jewish Family Services in Tampa.

His clinical interests include health and wellness, stress management, sleep concerns, job and career development, workplace stress, and managing conflict or difficult relationships. He works with adults of all ages and has a particular specialization in geriatric care.

Before semi-retiring, he worked within the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, including the Departments of Psychiatry and the Employee Assistance Program. For more than 25 years, he conducted workshops for both professionals and community members throughout the Sarasota area. His presentations addressed wellness, stress management, coping with difficult people, and workplace conflict.

Originally from northern Michigan, he grew up enjoying all four seasons—though he is happy to leave winter behind as an adult. He remains a proud Michigander and enjoys sharing the familiar “Michigan mitten” hand map when describing where he is from. He has two grown children who enjoy visiting family in Michigan, though both have chosen to settle in the South.

Outside of his professional work, he has a long-standing appreciation for cycling and, as a younger man, bicycled across the United States.
