Hunter Burns, APRN

Hunter Burns is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with more than 10 years of experience in healthcare, having worked as both a nurse and medical scribe in psychiatry, correctional facilities, and emergency department settings. Originally from Broward County, Florida, he is an alumnus of Florida State University and earned his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama.

Throughout his career, Hunter has held leadership roles as an inpatient charge nurse at Apalachee Center and Florida State Hospital. He has also provided care to incarcerated individuals at Leon County Detention Facility and Wakulla Correctional Institution, gaining valuable experience working with diverse and complex patient populations. His well-rounded clinical background informs his outpatient practice, where he focuses on crisis stabilization, mood and anxiety disorders, and the management of complex mental health conditions.

Hunter treats adults, adolescents, and children ages 12 and older, taking a holistic and individualized approach to care. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, cycling, hiking, and exploring Florida’s local springs.
