Dr. Nicola provides care for adults and geriatric patients, with a broad interest in all aspects of psychiatry across both inpatient and outpatient settings. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Denver, followed by his medical degree from Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency training at the UCF/HCA Tallahassee Psychiatry Residency Program.
Dr. Nicola has a particular interest in working with patients experiencing substance use and addiction-related conditions, while also treating a wide range of mental health concerns. He takes a comprehensive and adaptable approach to care, meeting patients where they are and supporting long-term improvement.
He serves as core faculty for the UCF/HCA Tallahassee Psychiatry Residency Program and was Chief Resident from 2023 to 2026.
Originally from Boise, Idaho, Dr. Nicola brings a grounded and approachable style to his work. Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys playing golf.
