Children and adolescents face unique mental health challenges that require a different set of expertise than adult psychiatry. Our dedicated and certified adolescent and child psychiatrists offer compassionate, age-appropriate treatment options for young people ages 6-17, helping them and their families navigate their mental health journey with expert support.
Our specialized care is available through both our resident clinic and our board-certified adolescent and child psychiatrists. We provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment recommendations tailored to each child’s needs.
Our thorough evaluation process helps identify and understand the mental health challenges your child may be facing. These evaluations typically last 1-2 hours and involve gathering detailed information about your child’s development, behavior, emotions, and overall functioning.
If your child has already received a diagnosis or treatment plan elsewhere, we can review these evaluations to answer questions, provide a professional second opinion, or offer additional diagnostic and treatment suggestions.
The CAPRC is a unique collaboration between WellStead Mental Health and the UCF/HCA Psychiatry Residency program. This clinic offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents while providing valuable training for resident physicians.
