Ablavi Kouta, MSN, PMH-BC is an ANCC-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of psychiatric nursing experience. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University, a Bachelor of Science at Thomas Edison State College, an Associate of Science in Nursing at Passaic County Community College and obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing training at Essex County Vocational Technical School.
With extensive experience in inpatient psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, and crisis intervention units, Ablavi primarily works with adult populations. She has also served as a new-hire preceptor at East Orange General Hospital for five years and is a proud member of Phi Theta Kappa. Recognized for excellence in care, she is a Daisy Award recipient and the founder of Team Orange, through which she has organized and participated in annual fundraising walks for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
Born in Ghana, West Africa, and raised between Ghana and Togo, Ablavi brings a rich cultural perspective to patient care. Outside of work, she enjoys camping and hiking. She also values building meaningful connections with her clients through her practice.
